Theory Test
Practical Test
The UK practical driving test assesses a learner’s ability to drive safely and independently in real-world conditions. It lasts around 40 minutes and includes five key parts: an eyesight check, vehicle safety questions, general driving ability, a reversing manoeuvre, and independent driving. Candidates must demonstrate control over the vehicle, follow road signs, and respond appropriately to various traffic situations. The test may include pulling over, hill starts, and an emergency stop. During the independent driving section, learners follow either traffic signs or sat-nav directions for 20 minutes. To pass, candidates must avoid serious faults and commit no more than 15 minor faults.
